WDM Driver for DVB Cards Enhancements
An enhanced version of the driver for the DVB PCline premium cards from Technotrend and compatibles is provided here. It consists basically of the driver set from Technotrend's software version 2.17; but it includes a new SAA7146N.SYS driver and SAA7146N.INF installation script. This driver is functional compatible with the original driver supplied by Technotrend.
The driver software provided here shall enhance stability and reliability of the DVBsVCR2 software. Although it is recommended for use with the DVBsVCR2 software it is not required. The DVBsVCR2 software will also work with the driver provided by Technotrend, however, with some limitations.
The following major enhancements are included:
- Includes full power management support, including support for suspend-to-RAM (S3) and higher suspend states.
- API to query the size of send and receive transfer buffers.
- API to dynamically change the size of send and receive transfer buffers.
- API to flush transfer buffers on demand of the host application.
The enhanced driver can be downloaded on the download page.
Installation
Unzip the driver package to a temporary directory. Make sure the directory structure in the compressed file remains intact.
Close all applications accessing the DVB card.
New Installation
When the "install new hardware" wizard appears, select the directory where you unzipped the driver package. (The directory containing the .inf files)
Upgrade Installation
Open device manager and manually uninstall the "Virtual DVB-S/-C/-T Network Adapter" under network adapters.
Under audio-, video- and game adapters, select the DVB card entry (the actual naming depends upon your hardware vendor) and upgrade the driver by selecting the directory where you unzipped the driver package. (The directory containing the .inf files)
