DVBsVCR2 mpgsplit

DVBsVCR2 Version History

Version 2.3.4

Improvements:

  • When you manually change the name of a channel or the name of a provider in the "Channel Entry Settings" dialog box, the name will remain untouched, even when the "Update program names from PSI tables." option in the "Channel List" dialog box is checked. To stop using the manually assigned name and restore automatic update of the name, set the name to blank.
  • The "DVB-Card Firmware" dialog box now shows also the version and date of the CI library used in the firmware.
  • Playback of recorded MPG files that are using a high data rate is improved. Previous version may cause  audio buffer underflows, resulting in temporarily muted audio during high data rate playback.

Fixes:

  • A bug has been fixed that caused the program to fail after suspend and resume when certain types of plug-ins are loaded.
  • The "DVB-Card Firmware" dialog box shows correct video microcode information for the latest firmware releases.
  • Sometimes slow response when stopping playback has been improved. When the file was damaged and playback could not start at all, slow response time when aborting in "Loading" state is fixed.
  • Fixed a crash when the ttdvbacc.dll supplied with this program was replaced with a newer version from Technotrend.
  • Several minor bug fixes.

Known issues:

  • The SETUP will overwrite the "default.tpr" and "EPG Database.mdb" files in the application data folder.

Version 2.3

Improvements:

  • At the end of an automated EPG scan, the tuner will be set to off. This allows the operating system to enter suspend mode after an EPG scan has run.
  • The timestamps in an MPG recording are now aligned to start at 0. Previously the original timestamps received in the DVB stream have been used. This shall improve compatibility with 3rd party programs.
  • Recorded MPG files now contain better SCR: The algorithm for system clock reference (SCR) generation has been enhanced. Previously on some channels the generated SCR tended to result in frequent audio underflows. Please note: This issue did never cause any problems within the DVBsVCR2 program itself. However, 3rd party programs that input MPG files generated by previous versions might behave erratically.

Fixes:

  • The "Close on automatic stop" option in the recorder page was sometimes disabled when it should be enabled.
  • Error messages that refer to AC3 audio streams cannot be distinguished from messages of normal MPEG audio streams. These messages are different now.
  • Recording of additional MPEG or AC3 audio streams is more robust now on slower systems.
  • Incorrect start position on playback of PVA files when the start position is not set at the beginning of the file: The playback of PVA format did only a rough guess of the starting point in the file, whereas the playback of MPG format started to play at the exact second. This has been fixed now.
  • Playback start near end of file: Item kept "loading" state instead of entering "playing" state, so playback kept running and did not end in a normal way. This has been fixed now.
  • Pressing pause near end of file: Playback did pause but then immediately afterwards ended without user intervention. This has been fixed now.
  • Very rarely the program stopped responding when playback starts, and the starting point was not the beginning of the video clip. This has been fixed now.
  • Recorded MPG files now contain timestamps with a correctly set 33rd bit: Code has been added to generate a correct 33rd bit for all timestamps. Previously video and audio channel #0 always had bit 32 set to zero (due to the internal PVA format limitations), even when bits 0 to 31 overflows, and all other channels carried the original bit 32 from the DVB stream. Please note: This issue did never cause any problems within the DVBsVCR2 program itself. However, 3rd party programs that input MPG files generated by previous versions might behave erratically.
  • Failed to sort by "CA" (conditional access) column in channel list.

Known issues:

  • The SETUP will overwrite the "default.tpr" and "EPG Database.mdb" files in the application data folder.

Version 2.22

New Features:

  • New option to prevent automatic deletion of channels that have a channel number assigned.
  • The availability of a channel is now indicated in the channel's icon.
  • Recording errors or warnings in the *.err file now includes the stream index.
  • Command line option "/lang" now handles a list of languages to allow scheduling of multilingual recordings.

Fixes:

  • The DVB card firmware included in this version is based on the firmware included with Technotrend's "TT-PCline premium family" software revision 2.10a. Among other changes, it includes several fixes to improve interoperation with CA-modules.
  • Playback of multilingual PVA files (as created by this program) is now possible.
  • Fixed description of audio selection(s) from a recording was not copied to playlist, which always showed "Language n" instead.
  • Sometimes the language controls became enabled during recording, allowing the user to change audio channel while a recording was in progress. This is fixed now.
  • Fixed an issue that, under some very rare conditions, could cause a recording to abort after a few minutes with an out-of-memory error. In this case the recorded file did not contain any audio data.
  • Fixed a bug that, if additional audio or AC3 streams are selected for recording, can cause random time to be displayed for recording length and, ultimately, can cause the timer to stop counting down.
  • Fixed a bug that causes output of error messages indicating incorrect PTS in audio streams although there is actually no problem in the stream.

Known issues:

  • It is not possible to add an AC3 stream to a recording from the command line. Currently this can be done from the user interface only.
